GMA-7: “It is not our style to play dirty.”

TV network GMA-7 reacted on a recent report by DZMM reporter Junrie Hidalgo, claiming that AGB Nielsen Media Research positively pointed at the Kapuso network as the group behind the alleged cheating and tampering of the ratings gathering in the province of Bacolod.

According to a statement sent by GMA to PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) through e-mail, Hidalgo allegedly angled his report as: “AGB Nielsen umamin sa dayaan, GMA network tahasang itinurong nasa likod ng dayaan.”

Yayo Aguila leaves PBB after her mother passes away

Yayo Aguila opts to leave Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity Edition 2 after staying in the house for nine weeks as a celebrity housemate. The Mom in Distress had just found out that her mother, Mrs. Helen Racelis, had succumbed to a cardiac arrest. Yayo’s mom has been suffering from diabetes and a serious heart ailment prior to her demise.

The former Bagets star lamented the fact that she was unable to inform her mother two months ago about her plan to enter PBB Celebrity Edition 2. She told Big Brother that the reason why she decided to try her luck in the reality show was to provide her mother and her children a much better life. Yayo planned to use the prize money to support her family and pay for her mother’s medication.

ABS-CBN should expect a Christmas stocking full of suits from GMA-7.

Isang emergency presscon ang ipinatawag ng GMA-7 kaninang umaga, December 20, regarding the official statement na ipinalabas ng Kapuso network kagabi, December 19, patungkol sa DZMM report na ginawa ni Junrie Hidalgo—kung saan tahasang itinuturo raw ng AGB Nielsen Media Research Philippines ang GMA-7 na nasa likod ng dayan ng ratings sa Bacolod.

“American Idol” Season 5 winner Taylor Hicks performs live in Manila

American Idol Season 5 winner Taylor Hicks gives an early Christmas treat for Filipinos as he is scheduled to perform his signature soulful songs in select Ayala Malls. Taylor’s fans, who call themselves the “Soul Patrol,” can catch him during his December 19 and 20 performances at Greenbelt 3 Park and at the Trinoma Activity Center, Quezon City.

Popularly known for his soul and blues music, Taylor visits the country to perform the songs from his self-titled debut album including one of his favorites “Just to Feel That Way.”

Lolit Solis also files her counter affidavit on Piolo and Sam’s libel case

Nakakuha ang PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) ng kopya ng 11-page counter affidavit ng talent manager at entertainment columnist na si Lolit Solis na sinumpaan niya kaninang umaga, December 20, sa sala ni Manila City Assistant Prosecutor Dennis Aguila.

Alas-diyes ng umaga nang dumating si Lolit at ang kanyang legal counsel na si Atty. Noel Malaya sa Manila Regional Trial Court. Naabutan nila sa sala ni Asst. Prosecutor Aguila ang former Pilipino Star Ngayon entertainment editor na si Veronica Samio at si Atty. Joji Alonso, ang legal counsel nina Piolo Pascual at Sam Milby, na nagsampa kay Manay Lolit ng libel case noong November 16.

Yasmien Kurdi cancels trip to Lebanon

Hindi na matutuloy si Yasmien Kurdi na lumipad papuntang Lebanon para bisitahin ang kanyang amat at ang lolona niyang maysakit ngayong Kapaskuhan. May problema na naman daw sa naturang bansa sa Middle East kaya hindi raw puwedeng pumunta doon ang young actress.

Ang ginawa na lang ni Yasmien ay tinawagan niya ang kanyang ama at kinumusta ang kalagayan ng kanyang lola.

Punong-puno ang Cinema 6 ng SM Megamall noong Linggo, December 16, kung saan ginanap ang premiere night ng Regal Entertainment’s Shake, Rattle & Roll 9. Ito ang nag-iisang horror movie entry sa 2007 Metro Manila Film Festival.

Roxanne Guinoo caught our attention sa kanyang episode na “Bangungot,” ang ikalawang episode ng SRR9, dahil she’s living up to her sexy image after endorsing a whisky brand. Bigay na bigay ito sa pakipaghalikan kay Dennis Trillo lalo na sa eksenang towards the end kung saan nagkayapan sila ng mahigpit ni Dennis.

Charice Pempengco wows American audience in “Ellen” show

The 14-year-old Little Big Star finalist showed off her singing talent that wowed the American audience including the Emmy Award-winning host Ellen DeGeneres.

MALALAGAY na naman sa hot water si Willie Revillame, host ng noon-time show na ‘Wowowee’ kapag binuksan ng Senado ang imbestigasyon sa naganap na dayaan umano sa Wilyonaryo game portion ng nasabing show.

Kahapon ay kinalampag ni Sen. Francis “Chiz” Escudero ang Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) na umaksyon sa napaulat na pagmamaniobra raw ng mga host sa kanilang game portion.

Rainier Castillo: From Sheena Halili to Stef Prescott?

Sa ginanap na Christmas telethon ng GMA para sa Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) last December 16 sa GMA-7 Studio, marami ang nagulat nang makita nila ang StarStruck 4 Avenger na si Stef Prescott na umiiyak sa isang sulok kasama ang isa sa cast ng Marimar na si Sheena Halili.

Kuwento ng aming source na nakakita ng pangyayari, parang nagko-confide si Stef kay Sheena habang umiiyak ito. Si Sheena naman ay nakayakap kay Stef at pinapatahan ang kasama.
